Getting Ready for a Trade Show

If your company is participating in your first trade show, it’s important to get prepared early. There are many things you’ll need to acquire and many plans to make. Here are some tips to get started.

Plan your booth. Reserve your spot early, as the booths with the best location get claimed early. Once you’ve reserved your spot, plan for how you’ll decorate your booth. You’ll need pictures or other items that communicate your marketing message.

Plan your giveaways. Every booth holder at a trade show offers some sort of giveaway that includes your company logo. Hats, cups, and thumb drives are great inexpensive giveaways. If you want higher end giveaways, choose embroidered logo shirts for clients and visitors.

Plan your employee uniforms. You’ll want all of your employees manning the booth to be dressed in clothing that is identifiable. Embroidered logo shirts are great, paired with khakis or jeans. The planned outfit should be casual enough to be worn with comfortable shoes, such as tennis shoes, since most event venues have concrete floors.

Plan your schedule and your pitch. Your employees will be constantly conversing with potential clients all day while working the event. It’s important that everyone understands the company message they are to convey. In addition, it’s important to have a reasonable number of employees so that the schedule is not overly tiring for the employees working. Standing on the trade show floor all day talking to clients is exhausting work, so make sure everyone gets a regular break.

With these tips in mind, you should be well on your way to a successful first trade show. Be certain to get an early start on ordering items like giveaways and embroidered logo shirts, so that you have everything you need in plenty of time.
