Saying Thank You: How to Show Your Appreciation to Your Bridesmaids

Planning a wedding is a stressful task. For many brides, their wedding is one of the biggest days of their life, and making sure it is everything that they could ever want is critical. To make this all happen, you have enlisted your closest friends to help. With the stress and complexity, it is entirely possible that you have snapped, expected too much, or have been a little unpleasant. It happens to the best of people, and it is almost expected to happen to some extent. With all they have put up with, and all they have helped come together, showing appreciation to your bridesmaids is paramount.

Say It

The most obvious way to let your bridesmaids know that you appreciate their hard work is to just say it. It does not need to be some big theatric speech either. Take some time and thank them personally; this thank you will mean more than you would imagine. For larger wedding parties, this should be done both in a group setting, and a more personal thank you message to each of your bridesmaids. A shout out to your hard working bridesmaids during your wedding speech is also recommended. This public announcement gives credit where credit is due.

Show It

While words certainly do have power, actions are going to have an even larger impact. Show your bridesmaids that their hard work is noticed by showing curtesy to them. When working on planning tasks, be sure to be on time and on task. Bridesmaid gifts are a great way to make your appreciation obvious. A thoughtful and unique gift goes a long way in visualizing how you value their efforts, and how important their friendship is to you. While their contributions come from a place of love, a memento gift is a nice final touch for their hand in your wedding.
