Are you interested and excited about the prospect of learning to ride a motorcycle? If you’re also worried about how you’ll learn everything you need to know, an adult motorcycle training course may be just the thing for you.
What is a Motorcycle Training Course?
Explaining the specifics of a course is difficult since each one is a bit different, but in most cases, you’ll encounter classroom work as well as time spent learning to actually ride a motorcycle. Skilled instructors will ensure you know everything you need to know to be safe and legal while you’re on the road.
- Before the Course Begins
In some cases, you may have homework that is required before you show up to class. In other cases, you’ll jump right into the meat of the instruction after you show up to the location of the training facility. In either case, make sure to be prepared. Try to get a good night’s sleep the night before and remember that this is mostly for fun. It can be a little stressful, as learning anything can be, but it can also be an amazing experience.
- Your First Day
This will vary based on the course you are taking but in many cases, you will spend your first day in the classroom. There are also many things you must bring with you to the class. If you are taking a course at Nova Driving School, you’ll need your driver’s license, motorcycle instruction permit, and training deposit. You will also have a signed waiver that you will receive on your first day of class.
If you will be riding that day, you’ll also be required to bring a bandana, eye protection, motorcycle gloves, long sleeved shirt, durable pants, and over-the-ankle boots. Helmets and motorcycles are provided but you may bring your own helmet if you prefer.
- Riding Exercises
After completing the classroom portion of training, you are eligible to move on to riding exercises. Here you will get hands-on practice with a motorcycle. You’ll learn how to use the controls to ride in a straight line, shift gears, brake, and do basic cornering. This will move on to more advanced skills as you progress in your studies.
